CoVID-19 Update
December 13, 2022
The health and wellbeing of our residents and staff continues to be our number one priority.
We recognize during this difficult time that communication is so important. This message provides a general overview of what is happening at Ina Grafton Gage Home, in addition to the regular voice mail and email updates being provided.
Firstly, we wish to acknowledge how devastating the Covid-19 virus has been, in particular within long term care homes and retirement communities. Our thoughts are with all individuals who have been touched by Covid-19.
Our Infection Prevention and Control measures are firmly in place and include:
- Active screening of all residents and staff
- Use of appropriate personal protective equipment
- Enhanced infection, cleaning, and sanitation protocols
- Daily testing for all entering the home
We strongly recommend you rely on reputable sources for information on Covid-19 such as Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), and Ontario Long Term Care Association (OLTCA) & Ontario
Retirement Communities Association (ORCA)::

Public Health guidelines include, wearing a mask, physically distancing, proper hand hygiene, not gathering in large groups, maintaining a small social bubble, and staying home if you are not feeling well.
To our incredible staff, we want to thank each of you for your hard work and dedication during these difficult times. Your commitment to providing excellent care and services to our residents is inspiring. You really are our Heroes!
To our families, we cannot thank you enough for your understanding and support. Please contact us directly if you wish to become an Essential Caregiver to your loved one. Alternately, we are equipped with iPads to help facilitate virtual visits and we are always happy to arrange a time.
Thank you to our entire community for your cooperation and empathy as we navigate these challenging and uncertain times.
And finally, we share the pain and suffering of those residents, families, and staff who are actively fighting the disease, and our deepest sympathies are extended to those families who have lost a loved one.
